Ponders End Library Opens!

The new Ponders End library opens on the High Street.. The new offering doesn't appear to be living up to expectations or promises. Comments from locals suggest that the new space is not adequate and its current timetable is not inclusive to meet the needs of the local community..

THE QUBE MOVES

On Friday the 29th of March 2019, work started on the Qube to dismantle it and move it along the High street to its new home next to the Eagle House Doctors Surgery. By the End of the day the Qube was reassembled in its new position over looking the Junction of Southbury and Nags Head Road.
Now all it needs is a lick of paint and some community events to bring it back to life.'
Thanks to H Jacobs for the footage.

Sisters in Mind receives funding through the Health Lottery
PECDT is launching its new project ‘Sisters In Mind Community Hub’ a regular weekly hub for women to meet up and get more involved with their community at the Qube on Ponders End High Street, Ponders End.
People’s Health Trust has invested £40k in Sisters in Mind Community Hub, using money raised by Health Lottery London East.
This money will be used to run the Hub, for our women’s group that aims to build positive relationships between women of different ages and backgrounds across Ponders End’s diverse community and the neighbouring wards.
A range of weekly opportunities will be available for the women including crafts, cooking, gardening, self-care and wellbeing sessions.
The session’s content will be decided and led by the members themselves and there will be celebratory events to mark the end of each year to showcase and celebrate achievements as well an opportunity to engage with the local community.
For more information or to get involved, contact sisters-in-mind@pondersend.org.uk or 07467 124160 or 208 443 3858.
